Deliver a Clear Promise - Real Estate Thought Leaders is a weekly email newsletter packed with non-obvious insights, pulled from real conversations with leaders, insiders and experts.
Go Deep Rather than Wide - Perry Marshall said, “Everyone’s chasing reach or trying to go viral. The real money often comes from deep relationships with a small number of people who prize what you do.” The newsletter speaks directly to the kind of leaders I want in my world.
Create Flexibility - Because I set the expectation as a weekly email, there are no expectations for podcasts or videos on a specific schedule. I add them when they’re useful, stick to email the rest of the time, and keep my production calendar light and flexible.
10X the Signal - I engineered the newsletter format to be content packed while still being skimmable. So it’s virtually all signal, no noise. That allows interviews to be free flowing, authentic conversations again, both for those recording and the audience watching.
Escape the Algorithm - The newsletter doesn’t need to please an algorithm to reach the right people. I can speak right to the most ambitious, advanced and affluent people in our industry. Deeply, specifically, and with no apologies.
Deliver Hyper Specific Content - The newsletter allows me to cover advanced tactics, high level challenges and counter-intuitive ideas. The kind of content amateurs either hate or ignore. (Nothing wrong with amateurs, they just don’t have the same challenges or thought processes).
Be Radically Authentic - Podcasts, YouTube and social media have become more and more performative. Even the authenticity is fake. But because the newsletter isn’t blasted all over social media, it’s more of a private, “backchannel” format. Leaders can be brutally raw and honest about what they’re seeing, what they’re doing, what’s working, and what’s not.
Follow My Own Curiosity - Between talking to leaders and editing the newsletter content, I’m having a blast. We’re all facing similar challenges, so I know that the topics that spark my curiosity probably spark yours, too.
